How to Remove a GE Clothes Dryer Front Panel

Automatic clothes dryers built by General Electric come in a wide range of models, each with a distinct set of features and dry cycles. The major internal components including the motor, drum, belt and pulley system, and can only be accessed after partially disassembling the GE dryer cabinet. Remove the front panel to gain access to the interior for repairs, maintenance or part replacement.

Instructions

      Disconnect the GE dryer power cord. Open the door.

      Remove the screws leading to the underside of the top panel.

    • 3

      Lift the top panel up and back to rest against the wall behind your GE clothes dryer.

      Remove the two screws along the inside top of the front panel.

    • 5

      Tilt the top of the front panel away from the dryer.

    • 6

      Disconnect the door switch electrical connector from its socket.

    • 7

      Lift the front panel straight up to remove it from the GE dryer cabinet.
