How to Access the Belt on My Frigidaire Washer

The drive belt inside a Frigidaire automatic washing machine connects a set of pulleys to the motor. The belt and pulley system powers the movement of the internal components such as the wash tub and agitator. If the belt wears out, breaks, or is otherwise defective, the washer will not operate properly. Once the belt can be accessed, it can be replaced as needed.

     Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.

     Remove the screws along the bottom of the front cabinet panel.

   • 3

     Swing the bottom of the front panel out to disconnect from the washer cabinet. Set the front panel aside.

   • 4

     Push the idler pulley in to loosen the belt.

   • 5

     Slide the belt off of the pulleys.
