Unplug the power cord before working on the GE washer. Remove the three screws along the back of the top panel. Remove the screws along the back of the control console.
Pull the plastic trim off the top of the control panel. Lift the top panel off and set aside.
Slide the detergent drawer out as far as it will go. Press the release tab inside the door to completely remove it.
Remove the screws next to the detergent drawer compartment. Remove the screws along the top of the control panel.
Lift the control panel up and away from the washer to disconnect it. Set the panel on top of the washer.
Remove the screws along the bottom of the toe panel. Pull the panel away from the washer to remove it.
Open the door. Remove the wire rod from around the front of the door boot. Remove the screws next to the door latch.
Fold the lip of the door bot inside the tub.
Close the door. Remove the screws on the top and bottom of the front panel. Lift the front panel off and set aside.
Unplug the hoses leading into the door boot. Loosen the clamp holding the door boot in place.
Pull the door boot off of the tub.
Lubricate the outside edge of the new door boot with liquid laundry detergent. Position the gasket inside the tub. Line up the notch on the top of the gasket with the arrow at the top of the tub.
Replace the door boot clamp. Tighten the screw to hold it in place.
Plug the hoses back into their sockets on the door boot.
Replace the front panel. Install the screws that hold it in place. Replace the toe panel and the screws that connect it to the GE washer.
Replace the screws that hold the door latch in place. Position the door boot around the lip of the front panel. Insert the wire spring rod around the front of the boot. Close the door.
Move the control panel back into its original position. Replace the screws on top of the panel and next to the dispenser drawer. Replace the dispenser drawer.
Replace the top panel and the plastic trim on the top of the control panel. Install the six screws holding them in place.
