How to Remove the Panels on a Kenmore Elite HE3 Gas Dryer

Kenmore Elite HE3 automatic gas dryers are manufactured in a wide range of models, with varying available dry cycle options. When repairs, troubleshooting or part replacement needs to be done, the outer cabinet panels must be removed in order to access the internal components. After the needed repair, service or inspection has been completed, the panels can be replaced by reversing the disassembly procedure.

Instructions

      Unplug the Kenmore HE3 dryer power cord.

      Remove the screws connecting the back of the top panel to the dryer cabinet.

      Lift the top panel off of the cabinet. Set it off to the side.

      Press the release tabs on the right and left ends of the control panel from the inside of the cabinet. Pull the control panel away from the dryer to fully disconnect it.

      Unplug the wire harness leading from the cabinet to the control panel. Set the control panel aside.

      Remove the screws holding the two metal brackets in place above the drum. Lift the brackets out of the dryer cabinet.

      Remove the screws holding the bottom of the toe panel in place. Pull the toe panel down and away from the Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer to remove it.

      Unplug the wire harnesses under the dryer door. Remove the screws at the base of the front panel.

      Open the door. Remove the screws along the door frame. Lift the front panel off and set aside.

      Remove the screws holding the bulkhead in place in front of the drum. Lift the bulkhead out of the Kenmore dryer cabinet.

      Remove the screws connecting the side panels to the base of the dryer. Lift the side panels off.
