How to Replace a Door Gasket on a GE RB787WC2WW Oven

Oven door gaskets help to seal in the heat of your oven. The GE Hotpoint RB787WC2WW model has a door gasket that surrounds three sides of the oven’s frame: both sides and the top. When the oven’s door is closed and the door gasket is in good shape, the oven is able to maintain a set temperature while keeping the kitchen's ambient temperature from growing markedly higher.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your GE oven’s door and allow it to lay down flat.

    • 2

Grasp the door gasket at one end and pull it away from the oven’s frame. While you are pulling it, the clips attached to the door gasket will pop out of the holes they are inserted in that line the frame. The clips hold the door gasket in place.

    • 3

Line up one end of the new door gasket to the bottom portion of the frame.

    • 4

Insert one clip into each hole and move along the frame of the oven until all of the clips are in place and the door gasket is secure.
