Unplug the stove's electrical cord from the wall outlet or turn off the circuit breaker associated with the stove.
Open the oven door and remove the screws under the front edge of the stove top, using a Phillips screwdriver to turn them counterclockwise. Close the oven door.
Lift up the stove top and insert a 3 foot piece of narrow wood underneath to hold it open.
Remove the burner bracket assemblies by unfastening the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Turn the screws counterclockwise to loosen them. Lay the burner assemblies on the surface under the top.
Grasp the glass top with one hand on each side and pull it toward you to remove it from the slots in the rear. Lay the top on a flat surface and remove the brackets on its back edge using a Phillips screwdriver.
Install the brackets you removed in the previous step onto the back edge of the new top.
Insert the brackets into the slots on the back of the stove and press the top in place. Place the piece of wood under it to hold it open.
Attach the burner assembly brackets to the new top with the screws you removed earlier. Remove the piece of wood and lower the top.
Open the oven door and fasten the screws on the underneath of the front edge of the top. Restore power to the stove.
