How to Replace the Thermostat on Kenmore Dryer Model #11070812990

The Kenmore model 11070812990 is a front-loading gas dryer designed for residential use. The thermostat inside the dryer regulates the power sent to the gas burner assembly. Instructions

      Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet before working on the Kenmore dryer.

      Loosen the clamp holding the vent duct in place. Remove the vent duct.

      Remove the screws holding the back panel in place. Lift off the back panel.

      Unplug the electrical connectors leading to the thermostat. The thermostat is located above and to the left of the vent.

      Remove the screw holding the thermostat in place. Lift the thermostat off the cabinet.

      Position the new thermostat onto the dryer. Install the screw that holds it in place. Plug the electrical connectors into their sockets on the thermostat.

      Replace the back panel. Install the screws holding the panel in place. Replace the vent duct.
