Removing the Freezer Panel on a Maytag PBF1951HEQ

The Maytag PBF1951HEQ is a bottom-mount refrigerator freezer manufactured for residential use. When internal components need to be inspected, repaired or replaced, portions of the refrigerator must be disassembled. The back panel of the freezer compartment can be removed to gain access to some of the internal freezer parts. Once the service has been completed, the panel can be replaced.

Instructions

      Remove all items from the freezer compartment.

      Loosen the screws holding the ice maker to the freezer. Pull the ice maker away from the freezer wall. Disconnect the electrical connector leading to the ice maker. Set the ice maker aside.

      Remove the screws holding the two basket glides to the freezer compartment. Remove the glides.

    • 4

      Remove the hex head screws connecting the back panel to the freezer with the nut driver. Pull the freezer panel out through the freezer door.
