How to Replace the Oven Door on a Whirlpool Electric Range Model Number RF3661XDW0

Replacing your Whirlpool RF3661XDW0 oven door is a bit more difficult than other models that you simply pull off the hinges. The hinges on the Whirlpool oven range are designed to keep the door from accidentally pulling from the range cabinet when you open the door. Replace the oven door in the range when the damage to the door is too extensive to repair with replacement parts, such as when the door is bent or more than one glass panel is broken.

Things You'll Need

  • Small nails, screws or metal pins

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Whirlpool RF3661XDW0 electric range oven door until it reaches about a 45-degree angle to the floor, or approximately halfway.

    • 2

Look for the small hole through the left and right hinges that appears empty. Insert a small nail, screw or metal pin into each hole.

    • 3

Allow the oven door to attempt to close. The nails or pins you inserted into the openings in the hinges will stop the oven door from closing completely.

    • 4

Grab both sides of the Whirlpool oven door. Lift the door off the hinge pins attached to the range cabinet. As you lift the door, rotate it towards you slightly to release the hinge from the top pin.

    • 5

Line up the hinge slots on the replacement oven door with the hinge pins on the range cabinet. Gently lower the door onto the pins.

    • 6

Pull the nails, screws or metal pins from the hinges you installed previously. Allow the oven door to close completely.
