How to Change a Stove Top GE Model JSP46WD2WW

The GE JSP46WD2WW is an electric oven range with a ceramic glass stove top. The ceramic stove top is clean and sleek but if you are not careful, the stove top can become cracked. If this is the case, you do not have to replace the whole oven range but can simply change out the stove top. The process isn’t too complicated but should be done with an extra person on hand to help carefully remove and replace the stove tops.

Instructions

      Cut power to the appliance via the circuit breaker.

      Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the appliance.

      Remove the retaining screws under the lip of the stove top . Open the oven door to do this.

      Lift the stove top and slide it forward. Do not lift it all the way out. Disconnect the ground wire and wiring harness from the oven.

      Remove the stove top from the oven range. The burners are fastened underneath the stove top and it is all removed as one piece. Carefully place it upside down on a towel on a table.

      Unscrew the burners from the old stove top. Screw the burners onto the new stove top.

      Place the new stove top on the oven and connect the proper wires. Screw the new stove top into place, reversing the previous order. Reconnect the oven to the power source and push the appliance back into place. Restore the power via circuit breaker.
