How to Replace the Inner Oven Door Glass for a KitchenAid Built in Model KEBS107D

The KitchenAid KEBS107D is a wall oven that, when installed, is built into the wall of your kitchen. The KEBS107D has a single oven compartment, and the door has a window, allowing you to view the contents inside the oven when the door is closed. The door actually has two glass panels, and the interior glass ensures that the outer door glass does not become hot during the operation of the oven. The inner door glass is subject to cracks, or may break if the door is allowed to slam shut or if a large object is dropped on the glass. If the glass is damaged, you must not use the oven until it is replaced.

Things You'll Need

  • Door removal pins (included with oven)
  • Allen wrenches

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the oven breaker in your home's service panel.

    • 2

Open the oven door, and then insert door removal pins into the hinge on each oven door. If you no longer have access to the door removal pins, which were included with the oven, insert an Allen wrench into the hole on each hinge.

    • 3

Close the door as far as it will shut. The door will not close completely with the pins or wrenches inserted into the hinges.

    • 4

Grasp the door with both hands by the side of the door, and then pull the door away from the oven. Set the door on a flat surface.

    • 5

Remove the screws from the top of the inner door liner, and from the bottom of the door.

    • 6

Lift the inner door assembly and remove it from the outer door liner.

    • 7

Flip the inner door liner over, and then remove the door hinge screws. Lift the inner door liner off the door.

    • 8

Remove the insulation strip from the oven door by lifting it out.

    • 9

Remove the broken glass from the door.

    • 10

Insert the new glass panel into the door, and then replace the insulation and inner door liner. Secure the liner by replacing the door hinge screws.

    • 11

Reassemble the door, and then install it back onto the oven by reversing the steps taken to take it apart and remove it from the oven.

    • 12

Restore the oven's power supply by turning on the breaker in your home's service panel.
