How to Replace the Front Door Seal on a Samsung Washer

Samsung washing machines come in a wide range of models, each with a distinct set of features and available wash cycle options. The front door seal on each model prevents water from leaking from the washer when it is running. If the door seal becomes damaged, the washing machine may not function properly. Remove the defective door seal and replace it with a new part to keep your Samsung front-load washing machine working properly.

  Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Turn off the water faucets connected to the unit.

  Remove the two screws in the back of the top panel. Slide the top panel toward the back and up to disconnect it. Set the top panel aside.

  Pull the detergent dispenser drawer out. Press the release tab at the back of the drawer. Remove the drawer from its compartment.

  Remove the screw next to the detergent dispenser compartment. Remove the four screws along the top of the control console.

  Pull the control console down and away from the Samsung washer to disconnect it. Unplug the electrical connector leading from the console. Set the console aside.

  Open the washer door. Pry the door seal retainer clamp off the front of the seal from the bottom with the flat-blade screwdriver.

  Remove the four screws holding the front panel to the washer cabinet. Unplug the door switch electrical connector from its harness.

  Close the washer door. Lift the front panel off and set it aside.

  Loosen the screw on the top of the interior door seal clamp. Pull the clamp off the seal. Lift the door seal out.

  Position the new door seal inside the washer. Align the two index tabs on the new door seal with the screws next to the washer fill tube.

  Reverse the disassembly steps to put the Samsung washer back together.
