Unplug your Electrolux microwave oven from the wall outlet or turn off the circuit breaker that supplies electricity to the microwave.
Insert a small flat-head screwdriver in the seam between the choke cover on the inside of the microwave door and the exterior door frame assembly. The plastic choke collar attaches to the frame with hidden clips. It covers the interior door panel assembly and the front door glass. Carefully pry the choke cover from the door frame to expose the interior door panel assembly and door latch.
Unclip the interior door panel from the exterior door frame using the small screwdriver. The interior panel will swing away from the exterior frame. Both the door frame and interior panel will remain connected to the door hinge. Swinging the interior panel from the frame also exposes the door latch attached to the end of the interior panel.
Remove the latch spring from the hook on the center of the original latch. Leave the opposite end of the spring attached to the interior panel.
Lift the latch from the brackets attached to the panel. Insert the new Electrolux microwave latch into the brackets. Attach the spring to the hook in the center of the latch.
Snap the interior microwave door panel into the door frame. Position the plastic choke collar over the interior panel and snap it into the frame.
Plug your Electrolux microwave oven into the wall outlet or turn on the microwave circuit breaker.
