How to Repair a Drip Between the Glass Door in a Frigidaire Oven

Frigidaire ovens have double-paned glass that allows you to check the food’s progress while also insulating the oven as much as possible. The oven door has several layers of metal covers and frames that will prevent drips from getting between the glass panes. Sometimes, however, old doors have little cracks that might loosen the glass and allow drips to form. Take the door apart so you can clean the glass.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Glass cleaner
  • Scrubbing brush

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Frigidaire oven and let it cool completely.

    • 2

Open the door all the way so it is parallel to the floor.

    • 3

Pull down the hinge clips so they are parallel to the door. The hinge clips are metal attached to each hinge. You may need to pry them out of the door with your fingertips or with the end of a screwdriver.

    • 4

Close the door halfway, grasp it on both sides and pull it straight out of the oven. Set it aside.

    • 5

Unscrew the four screws around the inside of the door that hold the door cover in place. Unscrew the screws on the top, sides and bottom of the door that hold the front of the door in place. Set the screws aside.

    • 6

Pull the door off the door cover and set it aside.

    • 7

Spray both sides of the door cover with glass cleaner. Scrub it until it is clean and wipe the glass residue with a paper towel.

    • 8

Repeat the cleaning on the glass that is still on the oven door. Work to remove the drip that was pressed between the pieces of glass.

    • 9

Reassemble the door in the same way you disassembled it.

    • 10

Grasp the door on both sides, line up the hinge clips with the slots in the door and lower the door. Close the hinge clips and close the door.
