Move the range away from the wall, and then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Turn off the range's gas supply by turning the handle on the gas valve clockwise until tight or to the "Off" position.
Remove the screws securing the upper rear panel of the range, and then remove the panel.
Remove the screws securing the electronic oven control to the rear of the control panel. Remove the electronic oven control, but do not disconnect the wires connected the electronic oven control. When looking at the oven from the rear, the electronic oven control board is located on the left side of the control housing and is a plastic rectangular module with several wires connected to it.
Peel off the overlay on the front of the old oven control, and stick it on the new control. Skip this step if the replacement component includes the overlay.
Secure the new oven control to the range using the screws you removed in Step 3.
Transfer the wires one at a time from the old electronic oven control to the new electronic oven control. To remove the wire connectors, depress the tab on the wire connector, and pull the wire connector off the terminal on the old electronic oven control. Connect the wire connector to the terminal in the same location on the new electronic oven control. Press firmly on the connector to connect it to the board. When properly connected, the tab locks the connector onto the board.
Replace the rear panel of the range.
Restore the range's power and gas supply, and then move the appliance back into position.
