Instructions

  1. Repair Lower Element

    • 1

Unplug the electric oven from the power outlet. Pull the oven several feet away from the wall so you can easily access its back panel. If required, let the oven cool before starting.

    • 2

Open the oven door and remove the racks. These cooking racks or shelves pull straight out of the oven.

    • 3

Unscrew and remove the mounting screws that secure the lower element to the back wall with a screwdriver. Grasp the element and pull it outward just enough so you can easily access the wires connecting the element to the terminals.

    • 4

Hold the wire ends where they join the element and pull them away and out of the oven. Set the new lower or bake element in the oven and slide the ends of the wires over the terminals. The wire ends snap in place.

    • 5

Slide the element end through a hole in the oven’s back wall until it is flush with the wall. The element should sit inside the brackets on the oven’s base. Insert retaining screws that attach the element to the oven.

    • 6

Slide the cooking shelves or racks back inside the oven. Close the door and plug the power cord back in the wall.

    Repair Gasket

    • 7

Inspect the inner door’s bottom left section for the retaining clips that hold the gasket in place. Grasp this clip with needle-nose pliers and pull it away from the oven releasing the gasket.

    • 8

Look for retaining clips along the door’s perimeter and pull these away with needle-nose pliers. Continuing this process removes the gasket.

    • 9

Position the replacement gasket next to the door and insert the clip on its lower left corner into the corner hole on the oven’s bottom left side. Pressing the gasket engages the clip in the cavity. Continue pressing the clips in their corresponding cavities.
