Pull the element toward you gently until it unplugs from the range. Lift it out completely, then lift the drip pan out of the hole.
Compare the new element to the old one. Depending on the manufacturer, it will connect to the stove in one of two levels on side-by-side lips. Raise or lower the element connection point on the stove, if necessary. Unscrew the connection point, move it to the unused lip and screw it back on.
Drop the drip pan back into the hole by aligning its opening with the element connector.
Push the new element gently into the connector at a slight angle and rest it on the inside rim of the drop pan.
Remove the baking racks from the oven.
Remove the nuts holding the bake element to the back oven.
Pull the bake element forward 2 or 3 inches, exposing the bake element wires, which are attached to the bake element by push-on, crimped wire connectors.
Label the wires with left, middle and right on a bit of masking tape, if there are more than two wires.
Unplug the element from the connectors and remove it from the oven.
Reconnect the new element to the proper connectors. Snug the connectors to the element by barely squeezing them with needle nose pliers.
Push the wires back into the back oven wall and attach the new element with the nuts you removed previously.
Remove the bake racks from the oven.
Remove the nuts of the brackets that hold the broil element to the ceiling of the oven.
Remove the nuts that hold the broil element to the back of the oven, while supporting the element with one hand.
Pull the broil element 2 or 3 inches from the back of the oven, disconnect it from the two wire connectors and remove it from the oven.
Attach the wire connectors to the new element and gently tighten them with needle nose pliers, if necessary.
Hold the element against the back wall and attach it with the nuts you removed previously. While supporting the element, attach the new element with the other nuts.
