How to Change a Belt on a Frigidaire FEX831FS1 Washer Machine

The Frigidaire FEX831FS1 is a stacked laundry center with a washer and dryer. The washer is equipped with a drive belt that controls the movement of the tub and agitator. A broken belt prevents the washer from operating properly. Change the faulty belt with a new part to restore your Frigidaire laundry center washer to proper working condition.

      Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

      Remove the two screws along the bottom of the washer front service panel. Pull the panel down to disconnect it from the washer cabinet. Set the panel aside.

      Move the idler pulley toward the belt. Slide the belt off the pulleys.

      Loop the new drive belt around the pulleys. Move the idler pulley to its original position to restore belt tension.

      Replace the front service panel. Install the two screws that hold it to the cabinet.
