How to Install a Dryer Buzzer

The buzzer on your dryer is a convenient little device that creates an annoying noise near the end of your dryer’s drying cycle. Some buzzers begin to go off several minutes before the end of the timed cycle to give you the opportunity to remove your clothes before they wrinkle. When your dryer fails to notify you that the cycle is complete, restarting the dryer or using an iron are your only options to remove set in wrinkles. Installing a dryer buzzer is an effortless repair you can do so you know when it’s time to get your clothes.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect your dryer from the electrical outlet. Pull the dryer from the wall if necessary should you need to access the rear of your dryer model to open the control console.

    • 2

Remove the two screws from the front bottom of the console at each end. Some models require you remove screws holding a rear panel to the console.

    • 3

Remove the rear panel from the console or rotate the front of the console up. Regardless of the access point, you will expose the interior of the console.

    • 4

Grab the wire by the terminal adaptor connected to the end of the wires. Gently pull the wires from the original dryer buzzer.

    • 5

Remove the one or two screws from the original buzzer. Take the buzzer from the console and discard.

    • 6

Install the new dryer buzzer into the console using the screws you removed from the original. Gently push the wires onto the buzzer terminals.

    • 7

Replace the rear panel on the console and secure it with the screws you removed previously. If your dryer’s console rotates up from the dryer cabinet, return it to its original position and secure it with the two screws on each end of the console.
