How to Remove the Tub on a W20EN4 Magic Chef Washer

The Magic Chef W20EN4 is a top-loading washing machine manufactured for home or commercial use. Various parts of the washing machine can be removed when repairs or parts replacement needs to be done. The tub inside the washer cabinet must be removed to reach many of the internal components. Replace the tub after the service has been completed by reversing the removal process.

Socket wrench
Putty knife
Phillips screwdriver
Masking tape

Instructions

  Unplug the power cord. Turn off the hot and cold water lines connected to the washer.

  Insert the putty knife between the front and top panels. Press the knife into the clips located about an inch from each corner.

  Tape the lid closed. Lift the top panel up and back to rest against the wall.

  Remove the two screws holding the front panel in place. Lift the front panel up to disconnect it from the clips at the base of the washer. Set the front panel aside.

  Disconnect the locking tabs around the edge of the wash tub top. Lift the top off.

  Pull the fabric softener dispenser straight up to disconnect it from the top of the agitator.

  Grasp the base of the agitator. Pull it straight up to remove it.

  Remove the bolts along the bottom of the washer tub. Lift the tub up to remove it from the washer cabinet.
