How to Install a Door Bellow on a Frigidaire Front Load Washer

Unplug the power cord before working on the washer. Turn off the water supply valves connected to the unit.

Slide the detergent dispenser drawer out. Press the release tab at the back of the drawer. Remove the drawer from its compartment. Remove the screws next to the detergent drawer compartment.

Remove the screws along the back of the top panel. Pull the panel toward the rear of the washer. Lift the panel off and set aside.

Remove the screws holding the control console to the cabinet. Unplug the electrical cables from the back of the control console. Tilt the control console forward and up to disconnect it from the cabinet. Set the console aside.

Open the washer door. Grasp the spring wire at the base of the door bellow with the needle nose pliers. Pull the spring wire off the door bellow.

Remove the two screws next to the door switch connector inside the door frame. Remove the screws along the top and bottom of the front panel. Lift the front panel off the washer.

Loosen the screw holding the door bellow clamp in place. Lift the clamp off the bellow.

Pull the door bellow out through the front of the tub.

Position the new bellow onto the front of the tub. Align the tab on the top of the bellow with the arrow on the washer tub.

Replace the bellow clamp around the bellow. Tighten the screw on the clamp to hold the bellow to the tub.

Replace the front panel. Install the screws that hold it in place. Position the front of the bellow over the lip of the front panel.

Replace the two screws next to the door switch connector. Replace the spring wire over the front of the door bellow.

Replace the control console. Install the screws holding it to the cabinet. Plug the electrical wires into their sockets on the back of the console.

Lower the top panel back into place. Install the screws along the back of the top panel.
