Unplug the Maytag washer from the wall.
Slide a putty knife between the top of the cabinet and the lower cabinet to pop the springs holding it in place. Lift the top panel to expose the tub underneath.
Pull on the tub ring clips with a pair of pliers. Lift the tub ring to remove it.
Pull the cap off the agitator to expose the nut underneath. Turn the nut holding the agitator in place using a socket wrench. Pull up on the agitator to remove it from the washing machine tub.
Place a spanner nut wrench, available from many hardware stores, over the drive shaft of the washing machine tub. Hold the inner tub to the outer tub. Tap the spanner counterclockwise with a hammer to loosen the tub. Remove the spanner. Lift the inner tub from the outer tub of the machine.
Remove the nut from the top of the tub seals on the bottom of the outer tub. Pull up the old tub seal.
Hit the drive block off the drive shaft. Lift the outer tub from the inside of the machine. Pull out the air gap hose and remove the seal. Place the new seal on the air gap. Lift the center post gasket out of the middle of the outer tub and place the new one included in your kit inside.
Place the outer tub over the drive shaft. Insert the new tub seals into the holes with the metal washer up. Replace the socket.
Reassemble the washing machine by reversing the steps. Set the washer to the wash cycle to test for leaks.
