How to Replace a Ceran Cooktop

Ceran is a brand of glass-ceramic cooktops developed by German manufacturer Schott Inc. Ceran cooktops are found on select ranges sold by Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and other well-known appliance manufacturers. Ranges with a Ceran cooktop have a smooth surface, with the burner elements located below the glass-ceramic cooktop panel. If something falls on the cooktop or it's cleaned improperly, the glass-ceramic panel can break, requiring a replacement. Replacing a Ceran cooktop may be completed without specialized tools or previous experience.
