Place the humidifier onto a flat surface 3 feet or more from the floor with the nozzle pointed away from the other objects.
Place the demineralization cartridge into a bowl of water. Submerge the cartridge in the water for 24 hours before use.
Turn the humidifier upside down and then place the demineralization cartridge into the base of the unit. Turn the unit back upright.
Remove the water tank from the base of the humidifier by lifting it free. Turn the unit over and unscrew the water tank cap. Fill the tank with clean, cold tap water. Screw the cap back onto the tank and then place the tank back onto the humidifier's base.
Plug the humidifier into an electrical socket and turn the power dial to the "On" position.
Press the button marked with three water drops to set the humidity level, displayed in the digital display. Select a level between 40 and 60 percent for a comfortable humidity level for the room.
Press the button marked with a clock to set the timer for the unit to shut down after a period of hours between one and nine. Enter no setting for continuous use.
Regulate the amount of mist output from the unit using the button marked with a cloud of mist. Press the button repeatedly to increase the mist. The unit will indicate maximum level by displaying three red bars.
Set the unit to preheat the water before misting by pressing the button marked with three flames. Preheated mist exits the unit at 104 degrees Fahrenheit and requires a 10-minute warm-up period. Preheat the mist to avoid dropping the room temperature by using cold mist.
