My Ionic Breeze Won't Turn On

The Ionic Breeze is an air purification system sold by Sharper Image. Available in several models, the machine cleans the air by removing dust, mold, bacteria and pollen. All of the air particles go into a HEPA filter, which is a type of filter that traps small particles that might otherwise be missed. Occasionally, problems might cause the Ionic Breeze to not turn on. This can sometimes be solved by dismantling and cleaning the unit.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Ionic Breeze machine from the wall. Carefully turn it upside down.

    • 2

Remove the screws that secure the Ionic Breeze to the base using a screwdriver. Most models will have four screws. Remove the two screws holding the sides together once the machine has been detached from the base.

    • 3

Remove the two middle fins in the Ionic Breeze. These fins are the ones that are usually removed to be cleaned.

    • 4

Remove another set of four screws that can be found by looking down into the machine. It is possible these screws will not be immediately visible. Place your hand into the machine and feel for the screws to find them. Remove the top of the Ionic Breeze.

    • 5

Lay the machine on its side. Remove the screws holding the sides of the Ionic Breeze to the outside case. Remove one side of the machine.

    • 6

Clean any dirt or grim from the metal pieces on the bottom of the machine, using rubbing alcohol and Q-tips. Avoid any of the wires located inside the machine. Spray canned air duster on the rest of the parts inside the Ionic Breeze, removing any lingering dust. Reassemble the Ionic Breeze by reversing the directions.
