How to Make an Ionic Breeze Stop Making Noises

The Ionic Breeze is a part of the Ionic Pro air purifier family capable of filtering a single room of cigarette smoke, allergens, dust, hair and pet dander. When it's first turned on, the Ionic Breeze will make a slight buzzing noise that slowly fades as it warms up and filters the surrounding area. However, this faint sound may become noisier unless the unit's cleaned on a regular basis. The Ionic series has a set of blades inside each unit that act as a magnet for dust and other debris. When too much dirt builds up, it can cause static electricity, causing the unit to make more noise.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the unit and unplug it from the wall. The Ionic Breeze should be cleaned once a month, when it makes too much noise for your liking or when you see the power light turn red. Wait about five minutes for the unit to cool down before removing the inner blades.

    • 2

Remove the collection blades from the unit. Depending on the model you have, the release latch may be located on the back or sides of the device. Push in the button to release and pull up and outward from the main door.

    • 3

Discharge any leftover static electricity along the blades by touching them to a metal surface such as a water pipe or metal faucet. You'll want to do this before touching the blades to avoid getting shocked.

    • 4

Use a damp cloth or sponge to gently remove any debris from the blades. Don't make the cloth too wet, just enough to grab the particles. Allow the blades to air dry.

Check to make sure the blades are completely dry before placing them back into the unit. If an area along the blades is damp, it could damage your Ionic Breeze.
