How to Clean an Amcor Air Processor Ionizer

Your Amcor air processor uses a process known as ionization to pull dust particles and other impurities out of the air. While the air ionizer is cleaning the air in any given room, it also makes use of two different internal filters. Like with a vacuum or any other cleaning device, the filters need to be cleaned or they will begin to clog and the Amcor won't work nearly as well as usual.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the control switch on the front of the air ionizer to the "Off" position. Unplug the air ionizer's electrical cable from the wall outlet.

    • 2

Add a small amount of detergent to a bowl of water until the water is soapy. Dip a paper towel into the water until it is damp, but not dripping.

    • 3

Wipe off the outside enclosure around the entire surface of the Amcor air ionizer with the damp paper towel. Gently scrub the outlet grill at the front of the device with a soft brush. Scrub in a side to side motion instead of an up and down motion.

    • 4

Wipe down the entire surface again with a dry towel. Grip the plastic filter cover at the top of the air purifier and lift the cover off the device. Set the cover aside. Pull the filter cassette out of the purifier.

    • 5

Soak the filter cassette in the water and detergent mixture. Wipe off the cassette with a dry paper towel. Set the cassette on a flat surface and wait until it is has completely dried.

    • 6

Grip the edge of the electrostatic filter near the bottom of the ionizer. Pull the filter down. Wash the filter in the water and detergent mixture. Set the filter aside and wait for it to dry.

    • 7

Insert the two filters back into the air purifier and set the plastic filter cover back on top of the device. Plug in the power cable.
