How to Troubleshoot an Ecoquest Air Purifier

A working air purifier keeps the air fresh in your home and helps prevent unpleasant odors from developing. If the purifier stops working properly you're likely to notice more dust buildup on your furniture and overall dirtier air quality. The Ecoquest air purifier uses both a filter screen and an RCI cell to filter dust and other pollutants out of the air in your house. If the filter screen becomes clogged, or the RCI cell fails, there are troubleshooting options available for you at home.

Unplug the power cable from the back of the Ecoquest air purifier and plug it back in to ensure it's making a firm connection. Disconnect the opposite end of the power cable and plug it into a different outlet to make sure the outlet is working properly.

Wipe off the screens on the front and back sides of the air purifier with a dry, soft cloth. Unplug the air purifier's power cable again and turn the device around so the band side is facing you. Find the two plastic thumbscrews at the top right and top left corners.

Turn the screws counterclockwise with your fingers until the back cover plate pops off the air purifier. Pull the cover off the device. Pull out the rectangular lint screen and wipe off both sides with your cloth. Clean out the exposed interior portion of the device with the cloth.

Grip the RCI cell cable at the lower left corner of the air purifier. Disconnect the cable. Grip the rectangular RCI cell at the top of the purifier and pull it out of the device. Slide the replacement cell into the visible top shelf inside the device and plug the cable into the port at the lower-left corner.
