How to Repair an Ecoquest 2.0 Air Purifier

When your air purifier stops working properly you don't have to live with dirty air or buy an entirely new device. The Ecoquest Fresh Air 2.0 air purifier has several internal parts that may fail over time due to built-up dust or accidental damage. These parts, such as the lint screen and RCI cell, are user replaceable and don't require any special training or tools to access. By replacing or cleaning the internal parts your Ecoquest air purifier will be running in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Reach behind the Ecoquest Fresh Air 2.0 purifier and press the power button to turn off the device. Unplug the power cable to ensure no electricity is running to the device.

    • 2

Turn the device around so the back cover plate is facing toward you. Locate the plastic thumbscrews positioned at the middle of the cover plate on the left and right sides. Twist off both thumbscrews and pull the back cover plate off the device. Set the cover plate aside.

    • 3

Locate the two thumbscrews at the top of the exposed square lint screen inside the purifier. Twist off the thumbscrews and grip the top and bottom edges of the lint screen. Lift the screen upward and pull it out of the purifier.

    • 4

Grip the edge of the horizontally positioned purification plate inside the purifier. Pull the plate toward you and set it on a flat work surface. Set the purification plate inside a bowl or dish and pour one part water and one part isopropyl alcohol, so that the plate is just barely covered. Gently scrub both sides of the plate with a soft bristled brush to clean the plate.

    • 5

Wipe the plate off with a soft cloth and set it outside the water mixture. Wait for the plate to completely dry.

    • 6

Locate the RCI cell near the top edge of the purifier. Unplug the black cable running from the cell to the plug-in port at the bottom-left corner of the purifier. Pull the cell out of the purifier.

    • 7

Slide your new RCI cell into the top of the purifier and ensure the black side is facing you. Plug the new cell's cable into the plug-in port. Slide the cleaned purifier plate back into positioned below the RCI cell. Set the replacement lint screen in front of the RCI cell and tighten the two thumbscrews.

Put the back cover plate over the lint screen and tighten the two thumbscrews you twisted off earlier. Plug in the Fresh Air 2.0's power cable and press the power button.
