Secure the water tray to the base. When properly installed, the tray will sit securely inside the indent around the rim of the base.
Place the filter onto the water tray. The filter will fit around the circular part protruding from the water tray.
Turn the base over and slide the cord through the notch. This will ensure that the base stays level during use. If you have any excess cord that you won't need, you can fold that up and secure it in the cord compartment adjacent to where the notch is located.
Place the fan enclosure on top of the base. The enclosure only fits one way and the filter should line up with the fan cover.
Remove the filler cap. The filler cap is located on the bottom of the tank, and it can be removed by turning it counterclockwise. You'll want to line up the unlock arrows with the ridges on the tank.
Fill the tank with cool tap water.
Replace the filler cap. Turn it clockwise until the lock arrows line up with the ridges on the tank.
Attach the water tank by lowering it onto the base. It will only fit one way and should be aligned with the fan enclosure and the base.
Plug the humidifier into an electrical outlet.
Turn the fan speed knob to your desired setting. Your choices are quietmist, medium and high.
Press the up-arrow and down-arrow buttons to set your desired humidity level. You can set it anywhere from 20 to 90 percent in 5 percent increments. Your rooms' current humidity level will be displayed in the large numbers, and your desired setting in the small numbers.
Perform routine daily maintenance. Turn off the humidifier and unplug it. Lift up the fan enclosure and remove the filter. Remove the water tank and tray and pour any leftover water into the sink. Rinse the tank and tray off to remove any debris and then refill the tank with clean tap water. Reassemble the parts of the humidifier so it is ready to use and wipe it down to keep it clean.
Perform routine weekly maintenance. Remove grime and hard water deposits on the tank and tray by running them through the dishwasher. Inspect the filter to see if it needs replacement.
Replace the filter whenever it becomes discolored and is hard to the touch.
