Instructions

    • 1

Check the power cord and make sure it's connected to an electrical outlet if your Frigidaire FDL251P 25-Pint Portable Dehumidifier doesn't come on.

    • 2

Locate the electrical panel. It's usually located in the basement or utility room. Open it and inspect the circuit breaker switches. If one of the circuit breakers has tripped or moved to the "OFF" position, move it back to the "ON" position. If the circuit breaker is between both settings, move it to the "OFF" position, then move it to the "ON" position.

    • 3

Check the reservoir if your dehumidifier won't operate. Empty the bucket if it is full. The dehumidifier turns off automatically when the bucket is full. Make sure the bucket is installed properly.

    • 4

Close all open windows or doors if your dehumidifier runs too much. Move it to an open and well-ventilated area if it's in a close space. Press the "CONT" button for maximum dryness.

    • 5

Turn off your dehumidifier, then slide the water bucket from the lower compartment. Reach under the front of the bucket compartment and pull out the filter if your unit isn't performing well.

    • 6

Wash the filter in mild soapy water if it's dirty. Allow it to air-dry and then reinstall it. Replace the water bucket.

    • 7

Attach a brush to a vacuum cleaner and vacuum the air grills on the dehumidifier if it's dirty. Dust the cabinet with a lint-free cloth.

    • 8

Check the settings on your dehumidifier if it's operating but the room isn't dry enough. Press the "Down" button to lower the humidity setting. If your dehumidifier is in room temperature lower than 41°F (5°C), it won't function, so move it to an ideal location.
