Accuclean Air Filtration Installation

Turn off the breaker controlling the air handler. This is usually labeled "HVAC," A/C" or "Air."

Examine the sides of the Accuclean filter. Note which sides are the pre-filter and collection. The collection side has punched key slots on the lower outer flanges for reference. These notches slide-lock onto matching posts on select air returns.

Inspect your air handler to locate the proper mounting location for the Accuclean device. This spot is chosen based on the direction of airflow through the air handler. Examine the airflow indicators on the outside of the handler for this information. The Accuclean device must be mounted at the point where air enters the handler.

Grab the two handles on the front of the unit's power door. Twist them inward, lifting off the door.

Twist the two tabs on your air handler box to gain access to the filter. Slide out the existing filter.

Peel and stick the foam gasket material to the flanges inside the air handler, or the outer frame of the Accuclean filter facing the air return. Ensure you select flanges that permit at least 28 inches of clearance to facilitate any needed removal of the power door or internal components. Look for the arrows indicating airflow on the outside of the Accuclean device that dictates proper orientation.

Slide the Accuclean unit into the air handler opening, ensuring that the collection plate faces up. Find the air handler by locating the passive cardboard filter. For side-mount applications, remove any existing passive filtering components inside the air handler. Drill the included self-tapping screws through the mounting holes on the filter to the outer skin of the handler.

Connect the low-voltage port harness inside the air handler to the supplied cable. Connect the other end of the supplied cable to the corresponding port on the side of the Accuclean filter.

Slide the power door onto the front of the cleaner. Engage the hinges in the notches at the base of the cleaner, then rotate the door up. Twist the handles on the front to re-engage the clamps on the back of the door to the notches inside the cleaner.

Replace the door on the front of the air handler enclosure. Restore power to the system from the breaker panel.
