How Do Honeywell Air Purifiers Work?

Honeywell air purifiers, also referred to as air cleaners, are designed to remove dirt and pollutants out of the air by drawing air through a filtration system that traps the dirt and pollutants in the filters. The clean air is recycled back out into the living area. While clean air makes living conditions better for everyone, purified air is a priority for homes where people with allergies live. As an added bonuses, air purifiers also remove odors from the space.

Instructions

Remove all package materials. Look for plastic tabs that may be holding vents in place.

Install or plug in the air cleaner. Honeywell air cleaners come in a variety of sizes. Larger units, such as the F500 Whole House/Light Commercial HEPA Filtration System, are connected to the return air duct of the house's existing heating system. The units are designed to clean the air before the air goes through the furnace and is forced through the ducts into the house. Smaller units fit on a countertop or sit in an out-of-the way corner. Smaller units typically are only efficient to clean the air in one or two rooms. It recycles the air in the room through the filter to clean. If the unit is expected to purify the air from more than one room, place the unit in a central area, not in a corner where the air flow may be constricted.
