Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the Bionaire Permatech Ionizing air cleaner. Unplug it from the electrical outlet.

    • 2

Wipe the outside of the air cleaner with a soft cloth dampened with plain water. The front air outlet grill can be cleaned with a soft brush or cloth. You can also use a brush attachment on the vacuum. Do not spray any household cleaners on this unit.

    • 3

Remove the rear air inlet grill, using the small nubs located on each side. Wash this grill in warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives or scrubbers on the grill, as these will mar the surface.

    • 4

Remove the foam pre-filter. Wash it in warm soapy water only. Rinse thoroughly in warm water. Allow the foam pre-filter to drip dry. Hanging a dry towel over a shower rod and laying the filter on top of the towel is one method for doing this. Check the filter; when it is dry on one side, flip it over and allow it to finish drying on the other side. Do not replace it in the air cleaner until it is completely dry.

    • 5

Remove the Permatech filters by gripping both sides and gently pulling them forward. Use a brush attachment on the vacuum to clean these filters. Run the brush along the inlet and outlet side of the filter. Do not force it between the pleats of the filter. Once the air cleaner has been used, this filter will appear stained; there is no need to try and remove the stain. It does not affect performance of the air cleaner.

    • 6

Replace the cleaned Permatech filters. Slide the sides of the filter housing onto the inside of the air cleaner unit. There is no need to apply force; the Permatech filters should slide on easily.

    • 7

Lay the dried foam pre-filter inside the rear air inlet grill. Replace the grill on the back of the air cleaner unit. The grill should snap easily into place. Reset the filter service indicator on the Bionaire Air Cleaner by holding the power button down for two seconds.
