How to Clean an Oreck Air Purifier

Oreck air purifiers remove dust, pet dander and other allergens that may pose a health risk to you or your family.
Frequent cleanings of the air purifier will help it do its job properly. The Oreck company recommends that you clean the air purifier every 4 to 8 weeks. However, there is a red "wash cell" light that will begin to blink if the filter needs to be cleaned before the allotted time frame; here's how to keep your Oreck air purifier working its best.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cover. Unscrew the knob at the bottom front of the filter and remove the vented lid.

    • 2

Remove the cartridge and charcoal filter. Pull the filters cartridge out completely. Remove the charcoal filter from the back of the component.

    • 3

Remove the front screen and clean it by running water over it.

    • 4

Clean the collection cell. The collection cell is the permanent filter of the air purifier. It can be cleaned by either using compressed air or by rinsing it under running water.

    • 5

Clean the interior. Using a small vacuum or a can of compressed air, blow out dust that has accumulated on the inside of the component itself.

    • 6

Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling the filter. Installing a damp filter may result in severe damage to your Oreck air purifier.
