Instructions

    • 1

Turn the humidifier off and unplug it from the wall. Remove the water bottle and the chassis/power pack from the cabinet.

    • 2

Remove the wick, along with the rod and float assembly, from the cabinet, allowing any excess water to drain into the reservoir. Remove the rod assembly from the wick.

    • 3

Sponge any remaining water out of the reservoir, and then fill it with one gallon of warm water mixed with one cup of white vinegar. Scrub the inside surfaces gently with a soft brush, and use a little undiluted vinegar on a soft cloth to wipe away any mineral deposits.

    • 4

Rinse the vinegar solution out of the reservoir, flushing thoroughly with water. Then re-fill the reservoir with one gallon of warm water, this time mixed with one teaspoon of chlorine bleach. Let the bleach solution stay in the reservoir for 20 minutes, swishing it around every few minutes.

    • 5

Empty the bleach solution out of the reservoir. Rinse the reservoir with water until there is no lingering smell of bleach.

    • 6

Empty any remaining water out of the water bottle, and then fill it with one pint of warm water mixed with two tablespoons of chlorine bleach. Replace the cap on the water bottle, and shake it up well. Remove the cap, drain the bleach solution into the sink, and then thoroughly rinse the water bottle.

    • 7

Wipe the chassis/power pack with a soft, dry cloth. Do not allow this component to become wet.
