How to Clean a Lasko Fan

Lasko is one of the leading producers of fans and air purifiers to promote comfort and air flow in the home. While all Lasko fans help circulate air and cool the environment, several Lasko fans also filter allergens and dust from the air, too. Occasionally, dust and dirt can accumulate in Lasko fans that may degrade their performance. To keep your Lasko fan functioning at full capacity, it is important to clean them regularly.

Instructions

    • 1

Prepare an all-purpose cleaner by mixing a few drops of mild hand dish washing detergent in a spray bottle with some warm water.

    • 2

Remove the front grill on a Lasko personal fan by pressing firmly on the sides toward the center of the fan.

    • 3

Remove the grills from Lasko table fans, Lasko wall mount fans, Lasko pivoting fans and Lasko pedestal fans by locating the tabs between the front and back grills. Carefully wedge a flat head screw driver between the grills to release the tabs. Begin from the 12 o'clock position and work clockwise until all tabs are released.

    • 4

Open Lasko window fans by removing them from the window and unscrewing the screws from the exterior of the front grill.

    • 5

Unscrew the four exterior screws on the front grill of a Lasko box fan to open.

    • 6

Wipe down the blades of the fan with the detergent solution to clean. Wipe dry with the cloth and avoid touching the motor.
