Make sure your LG dehumidifier has power. Plug it into a working outlet. Try another appliance first to verify the outlet is working. Check that no circuit breakers in your house have been been tripped.
Check the water bucket. LG dehumidifiers pull water form the air and deposit it in an attached bucket. If your bucket is full or not attached properly, the dehumidifier will not start. Empty the bucket and make sure it is installed properly when you replace it. While you are at it, make sure the drain hose is properly connected.
Reposition your LG dehumidifier. Make sure no furniture, curtains or blinds block the airflow to the dehumidifier. Ask your dealer to verify that your dehumidifier is powerful enough for the room size you want to keep dry. If you're using the dehumidifier in a laundry area, keep it away from the moist air near the dryer and make sure the dryer is properly vented to the outside.
Close all of the doors and windows in the room you want to dry. Your LG dehumidifier may run continuously and fail to keep the room dry if doors and windows are open, especially to the outside.
Adjust the settings. If your LG dehumidifier is not drying the air, you may not have the control set to a low-enough humidity.
