How to Clean an Ionic Breeze Tower Air Purifier

The Sharper Image manufactures the Ionic Breeze, an air purifier for home use. Air purifiers are used by respiratory patients to clean the air, allowing them to breath easier. The Ionic Breeze creates an electric charge in air molecules, which makes them stick to the collection plates in the device. Over time, the collection plates and the vented grill becomes dirty and needs to be cleaned. To ensure your Ionic Breeze works at an optimal level, clean the collection plate and the grill every two weeks.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

    • 2

Grip the collection grid from the top of the unit and pull it out of the machine. The collection grid is not locked and should pull out of the unit without any problem.

    • 3

Wipe down the collection grid with a dry or slightly damp sponge or cloth to remove the dust and other particles that have collected. If the device is making noise during operation, wash the collection grid in warm, soapy water. Let the grid air dry for at least 24 hours before reinstalling it in the device.

    • 4

Turn the device housing over a trash can to dispose of any debris or dust that has collected. To thoroughly clean the unit, spray the vent grid with canned air and dump the remaining debris into a trash can.

    • 5

Clean the outside of the unit with a solution of one part bleach and five parts warm water. Allow the unit to air dry before you plug it back into a power outlet.
