Instructions

    • 1

Remove the old doors and drawer fronts.

    • 2

Scrub the cabinet frames with ammonia based cleaner to remove all grease and grime. Sand the cabinet frames with medium grit sandpaper. Wipe away any sanding dust with a damp rag.

    • 3

Measure a section of the cabinet frame. Cut the veneer sheet to your measurements, using a utility knife. Completely cover the frame. The veneer sheets will have a paper backing. Remove the backing from the veneer, and press the sheet firmly into place. Hold a piece of scrap wood firmly in your hand and run it along the veneer to remove air bubbles. Repeat this process in sections to cover the entire cabinet frame.

    • 4

Lay the doors flat on the ground. Attach the hinges to the doors. Have a friend hold the door in place while you attach the hinge to the cabinet frame with a drill. Test to make sure that the doors are level. Adjust until they are properly placed.

    • 5

Spread adhesive on the back of a drawer front. Press the drawer front in place. Secure with finish nails.

    • 6

Find the end panels. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the panel. Press it firmly onto the side of the cabinet frame. Secure the end panels with finish nails.

    • 7

Fill all nail holes with wood putty. Trim any excess veneer with a utility knife. Attach any door and drawer hardware.
