Instructions

    • 1

Fill the bottom reservoir of the double boiler with the distilled water.

    • 2

Fill the top reservoir with the fresh lavender florets.

    • 3

Cover the boiler and simmer the water and lavender on your stove for 35 to 40 minutes.

    • 4

Pour the contents of the top reservoir into a glass bowl. Place a mesh strainer over an empty bowl.

    • 5

Mash the pulpy flowers with the potato masher in the glass bowl, until the flowers form a pulpy wet mess. They will be floating in about an ounce of essential oil.

    • 6

Pour the contents of the bowl over the strainer. The strainer separates the pulp from the oil as it drips into the bowl.

    • 7

Add two ounces of coconut oil to the bowl. This lightens the strong essential oil, making it safe for a variety of uses.

    • 8

Pour the contents of the bowl into a glass oil jar and then secure the cap. The lavender oil is ready for immediate use.
