How do I Troubleshoot an Ecoquest?

If you are having trouble getting that musty smell out of your house, an air purifier may be the way to go. The EcoQuest Air Purifier has the ability to sanitize up to 3,000 square feet and can be used in your office, home or gymnasium. If any glitches develop with your purifier, there are a few, basic troubleshooting steps you can run through before taking it in for a service.

Instructions

    • 1

Check that the power cord is plugged securely into the unit and the wall socket if you press the "On" button but get no response.

    • 2

Switch the unit from "Normal" mode to "High" mode if the fan is working but the purifier plate is not operating. Check to see if the unit is displaying a "Replace Plate" message. Check the plate for any cracks or damage and replace if necessary.

    • 3

Unplug the unit and check for any loose connections. Make sure that the electrical stainless steel contacts are not touching the screen part of the purifier plate.

    • 4

Replace the purifier plate if it makes a noise, creates sparks or has a burning odor to it. The purifier plate could be cracked. Look for a "Replace Plate" message, and replace if necessary.

    • 5

Move objects away from the unit that could interrupt air flow. Check to see that the lint screen, back cover and front grill are clean and free of blockages. Clean as necessary.

    • 6

Remove the purifier plate from the card cage, and clean the plate with denatured alcohol and a soft brush to cut greasy or oily substances. For general cleaning of the purifier plate, use one part water and one part ammonia. Allow the purifier plate to sit in the solution for about 10 minutes. Blow dry the plate thoroughly before placing it back into the unit.
