Set the CPAP humidifier on a solid, firm surface. Make sure the the surface is level and that it is a few inches below your sleeping position.

Press down the spring-loaded heated plate with the water chamber, sliding it inside the unit, until can't go any further. Make sure the rubber connector from the inlet port is securely fitted over the CPAP's air outlet.
Connect the flexible tubing to the water chamber's outlet port. Press the "Preheat" button on the unit's setting panel to warm the water before turning on the air flow. Then, press the humidifier button on the CPAP device. The humidifier symbol should display a green light on its display screen to indicate operation.
According to the REMstar User Guide, the ideal humidity setting depends on room temperature and humidity, or a level two setting. To adjust, press and hold the humidifier button on the CPAP device until the humidifier screen appears. Press the humidifier's ramp button -- up or down -- to change the setting.
