How to Set an Air-Zone Ozonator

The Air-Zone Ozonator is an air purification device used to rid areas of smoke, mold, bacteria, mildew and odors. The Air-Zone Ozonator can be used in all areas of your home, business and even your car. Ozone is a result of adding a third atom to the oxygen molecule, making it O3 instead of O2. Ozonators can be dangerous to your health when used too frequently and at high levels, so Air-Zone recommends you use the Ozonator to produce "as little as ozone as possible to create cleaner air."

Instructions

    • 1

Remove as much of the humidity in the room as possible before operating your Air-Zone Ozonator. Water can damage the unit, so the less moisture is present in the air, the better. Also, this is the most effective way to allow the Ozonator to remove mold and mildew. If using the machine for this purpose, clean the mold-affected area with bleach and water before operating the Ozonator. If you do not have a humidifier, turn on your heater and run it for awhile until the area feels dry and warm.

    • 2

Place the Air-Zone Ozonator on the side of the room where occupants will not be. If using the Ozonator to treat a room that needs to be disinfected completely, set the Ozonator in the middle of the room and leave the room for a few hours.

    • 3

Turn on a fan in the room and position it so that it helps push the ozone around the area. The best fan for the job is a ceiling fan, due to its even distribution of air flow.

    • 4

Set the Ozonator on low, and work the level up slowly until the unwanted room odors are no longer detected. To ensure that you are not spending too much time near the Ozonator, turn the level up a little at time, taking a break from being near the machine between level increases. The ozone should have a fresh rainwater odor when set at the right level. When set too high, the ozone will smell bleach-like or even bitter.

    • 5

Turn the Ozonator back down to a medium and leave the area again. Return after about 20 minutes to then adjust to the Ozonator to a low setting, as the odors in the room dissipate. Once the odor is gone completely, turn the Ozonator off.
