Honeywell HEPAClean Instructions

Honeywell is a name-brand manufacturer of home air purifiers, many of which use high efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filters. These home air purifiers are effective at filtering out dust, allergens, pet dander, pollen, spores, mold and smoke. Cleaning an air purifier involves removing the filters from the unit. They are easy to use.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the air purifier on a flat, stable surface at least 3 feet from walls and other furniture.

    • 2

Press the two notches along the front grill of the purifier and gently pull the grill towards you to remove it from the unit. You will now see the filter frame that sits behind the front grille. Push down on the top of the filter frame, pull it forward and remove the protective wrap from the filters. Snap the filter grill and front grill back into place.

    • 3

Plug the air purifier in and select the level of air purification desired (low, medium or high). To further purify and freshen the air, turn the ionizer knob to the "on" setting.

    • 4

Remove the filters for cleaning when, after extended use, the filter's red LED light comes on. To clean the stage 1 particle pre-filter, shake as much debris as possible off over a trash can and then gently wash the remaining debris off of the filter under warm water. The pre-filter should be air-dried completely before it is placed back into the air purifier unit.

To clean the stage 2 HEPA-type filter, use a vacuum attachment to thoroughly but gently vacuum out debris from between the folds of the filter, using one hand to hold the filter down. When the stage 2 filter has been cleaned, place it back into its housing and snap the filter grille back into place.
