How to Insulate Air Conditioner Coils

During cold months when you are not using the air conditioner, insulating the coils protects the unit from the effects of the weather. If you have a central unit designed to cool an entire house, don't worry about the evaporator coils that are kept within a compartment of the furnace inside the house. Focus on the outside condenser coil, which is often mounted on a slab that contains the coils. In addition, insulate a window air conditioner because part of it containing the condenser coils hangs outside.
