The remote control connects to the air conditioner to send signals for adjusting your air conditioner's settings. It causes the air conditioner to beep when it receives a signal from the remote to indicate the signal was successfully received during the remote sensing feature. The air conditioner beeps briefly if it does not receive any commands after three minutes from the last signal.
The remote sensing feature is optional and can be enabled or disabled by pressing "Start/Stop" next to the Remote Sensing label on the remote control. Once disabled, all commands must be entered into the air conditioner by pressing the control panel located on the front of the appliance.
A recent power outage can disrupt the power supply, and it requires a reset to restore appliance use. If the remote control is disabled and the air conditioner continues to beep, you may need to reset the appliance's power supply. The test and reset button on the air conditioner's power cord allows you to reset the power supply by pressing "Test" followed by "Reset." Once pressed, the air conditioner should receive electricity required to run the appliance.
Advanced problems with your window-unit air conditioner require professional repair. The unit can be serviced by calling the Frigidaire customer service line at (800) 944-9044 to set up an in-home repair, or you can have the window unit replaced if it is still covered under the limited warranty.
