Carrier Infinity Air Conditioner Troubleshooting

The Carrier Infinity air conditioner offers constant temperature monitoring with automatic adjustment, maintenance alerts and separate room or hour adjustments. The air conditioner is energy efficient and may run more than other air conditioner systems due to low-stage operation to provide cool operation, fewer drafts and improved humidity control within the home. While the air conditioner should work well with standard cleaning, maintenance and care, if problems arise with the Infinity air conditioner, some troubleshooting steps may be effective.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Carrier Infinity air conditioner into a grounded power outlet if nothing on the air conditioner is working. Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse as needed. Turn the main power switch to "On."

    • 2

Turn off and disconnect the air conditioner to clean the air filter if the unit has power but is not cooling sufficiently. Open the access panel and release the air filter, which can be cleaned with a vacuum brush attachment or with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and place the air filter in a dry place to air dry. Reinstall with the arrows on the filter facing the same direction as the air conditioner air flow.

    • 3

Adjust the thermostat settings if the filter is clean but the air conditioner is not cooling as expected. Place the "System/Mode" control on "Cool" or "Auto" and set the temperature to a point lower than the outdoor temperature.

    • 4

Avoid blocking the grilles or vents on the air conditioner and keep registers and vents in the home clear as well if the air conditioner is functioning well but the home is not receiving as much cool air as expected. Close windows and doors for the best results.
