Windchaser Air Conditioner: How Do You Disable the Alarm?

Windchaser-brand portable air conditioners bring cooling to locations without the facilities necessary to maintain a permanent air conditioner, making them perfect for holiday homes or other small properties. The alarm function of the AC indicates when the water tank that collects moisture from the air is full and needs draining. You cannot disable the alarm, but turning it off is simply a matter of emptying the water tank down the nearest sink.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a 1 1/2- to 2-pint capacity plastic tray beneath the plastic drainage hose at the base of the air conditioner, at the back.

    • 2

Pull out the plug blocking the drainage hose. Water will drain out of the air conditioner into the plastic tray.

Wait for the water to stop coming out of the hose. The tank has a capacity of around 1 1/2 pints or 24 oz.

    • 4

    • 5

Put the plug pack in the hose and switch on the air conditioner. The alarm light will turn off.
