Check the power cord. Ensure the cord is plugged into a functioning electrical socket. Inspect the cord for damages, such as a slit in the cord or a broken plug. If the cord is obstructed in any way, a Trane-certified technician should replace it. Also reset the fuse or circuit breaker, because something as powerful as an air conditioner may have tripped a breaker.
Inspect the filter in the Trane chiller. Filters may become clogged with dirt and debris over a few months. This prevents the unit from providing adequate cooling through your home or business. Unplug the Trane unit and follow the owner's manual regarding how to replace the filter.
Remove all furniture that's near the unit. Chairs or other obstacles sitting directly in front of the chiller keeps air from circulating correctly. This also causes the chiller to work harder than usual. Make sure there are no foreign items on top of the chiller or in the unit's grills.
Determine whether the thermostat is set correctly. The Trane chiller won't operate if the room temperature is colder than the thermostat setting. Adjust the thermostat as desired for the chiller to cool the room.
Clean the chiller periodically. Use a clean cloth wet with soap and water to remove dirt and buildup. This keeps your unit looking in prime condition and functioning at top performance.
